I'm Back on the Radar

Where do I begin?
It's been a fun summer, and I can't believe it's almost over. We're enjoying a beautiful day today, and I have a feeling it's one of the last...

Here's what we've been up to:

- trips to the kiddie pools with friends

- a weekend retreat at our church, being challenged to be the hands and feet of Christ

- a trip to Indiana for Rachel and Dave's wedding. I could have spent the whole weeknd at the reception, visiting with old friends and family from both sides

- canning jam and hot dilled green beans

- giving up on my pots of tomatoes and zuchinni, and mourning the loss of my herbs that someone forgot to water while I was gone

- spending a week in Red Lake with my WHOLE family. What fun...swimming, kneeboarding and skiing, fishing, boat rides, playing in the crazy sprinkler, cooking, washing lots of dishes, drinking coffee, sleeping in the camper, being the guest at a fabulous, real, afternoon garden tea, talking, eating, and other good things. The only sad part was that Daryl couldn't be there for the whole week. :-(

- Of course there are the random barbeques with friends, sitting on the front porch almost every evening with my husband, eating too much ice cream, keeping kids happy and setting fights, getting kids together for play dates, etc. etc.

That pretty much summarizes the last month.
Pictures will have to wait...

Now we are getting geared up for the first day of school next week. The girls are very excited, and I'm looking forward (mostly) to settling into a routine again! I can't believe I have a 2nd grader and one in kindergarten.
