After two weeks at home, I think we are finally settled in. My laundry is into regular mode now (never ending...but at least it's caught up for the most part), the house is staying somewhat tidy since we're outside so much, and we're all over jet lag.
I love summer!!! It has been unbearably hot this week, and may I just say "THANK YOU GOD" for central air. It is a luxury that I know I could live without, and I don't even know if I could justify installing one in my house. But this house came with one and am I ever thankful. Daryl says he noticed that my pregnancy thermostat just got cranked up in the last couple of weeks. We were trying to sleep with fans and open windows, but it just didn't cut it. Anyway, I'm very grateful for cool air blowing over my feet while I sleep.
Our days have been full of friends this week! Every day we have done something with different people. The girls' bathing suits are always hanging in the bathroom wet when they're not in use, and I have to remember to throw them in the laundry (along with the towels!) once in awhile. Thanks to a friend, we discovered some great wading pools here in the city with slides, etc. And we bought a bigger pool for the back yard so they can actually go for a dip. I was thinking of getting in yesterday, but since we cut down our huge lilac bush that served as a privacy fence, I'm a little hesitant...
Speaking of being pregnant, it's going well. I'm feeling the difference in how the baby is moving now and can tell we're getting closer to the end (rolls and punches instead of tiny kicks). I'm getting SO anxious to find out what gender it is. Still can't settle on names...Serious offers are welcome :-)
The biggest news in our house (for the kids) is that we have tickets to see the Sound Of Music Live! Our girls are completely obsessed with the movie. They had watched it about twice this spring, and then introduced their Madagascar cousins to it. They all played the roles, sang the songs, and quoted the lines. It's hilarious. On the flight home, Olivia said to me, "Mom, say to me, 'But you're such a baby' ". I said, "Why?!"
Olivia: Just SAY IT!
Me: Okay. But you're such a baby.
Olivia (in my face): I'm sixteen going on seventeen. What's such a baby about that?
Crack me up. Anyway, they are more than excited to see the "real thing". And even more exciting, Grandma S gets to come with us, and also 2 aunties and 2 cousins (Daryl's 2 sisters and their daughters). When I told Olivia, she turned bright red and said, "I'm going to go in the bathroom and sing HALLELUJAH!"
So that's what's new around here!

great to hear all of your news and especially about the tickets!! how cool. be sure to tell us all about it afterwards.
miss you.
your kids are so awesome! it's like reading rachel's blog (no offense rachel) and wondering what crazy things she has to say :) hahah. i'm definitely entertained.
i'm glad: you had a good trip, are settled in now, and feeling good with the pregnancy. i would offer to give you some name ideas but I don't think i will just in case i want to use them...and no i'm not pregnant.
will we see you around this summer? we're heading to your parents for supper tonight. apparently your dad is going to make us some cappicino milkshakes. i'm looking forward to it!
thanks for the update! Get in the pool!!! I would if I could! Too bad I couldn't just join you. Now that would be a sight! When is your due date again?
Names, hum, that is a hard one. Just don't use any we like. :) Just kidding! One boy's name that I like, but Jeremy isn't too fond of is Zachary. Have you changed the boys name with each child or do you have one you like and hold on to? How about Lauren for a girl. I really don't expect you to use these, just thought I'd give you some suggestions since you asked. :) I think we finally settled on our boy name
this is what I'd like to know: do the names have to begin with a vowel as the trend seems to be? :)
hey - what are you saying Elise - I remind you of a 5 year old?? haha - just kidding. That was great Robyn. I read O's comments to the rm and we laughed and laughed. Of course that was the night that I was laughing at my rotting banana, but I really did find it funny. thanks for sharing.
Sabrina, I love the name Lauren but some good friends of ours just stole it. (we were going to name O that) Yes, Mom, I'd like a girl's name to begin w/ a vowel, but our boy name doesn't. Yes, we've kept the same boy name for 6 years now! :-)
Robyn, I also wanted to let you know that my organic PB cereal is very very tasty!
A girl's name staring with a vowel - that sorta limits things - Emaline, Emily, Alyssa, Alexis, Alegra, Ariel, Iris, Irene, Organza, Iridescence, Izzy, Isabel (hey - that one's nice isn't it? My co-graduate was Isabel) Uslyses, and sometimes Yiggy...
Rachel, you started off okay and went down hill. :-) We're considering Emaline but I'm not sure how to spell it or pronounce it.
Ya, I'm not sure how you spell it exactly either, but the one I was thinking that sounded like you is pronounced just like it's spelled. Like Emaline Harris in Anne of Avonlea. I also know an Emelyn (Emmalynn) - in case you're interested. I do apolagize for going downhill, but in all seriousness, don't ya think Isabel is nice and sort of goes with your other names? I'm determined to name this child! Since we never like the same names and all.
you already know what my name vote is...pretty please. :D
If Carol Hobbs reads this she should tell you about the name Emaline--spelling, pronounc..., etc., since, if I'm not mistaken, that's one of her daughter's names.
I like Emaline or however you spell it. I like the "line" part a lot! (by the way, this is not our girl name so we won't take it if by some chance this is a girl)
I give you permission to use the name Elise...is that name your voting for Rhonda? :)
if you have a girl, can you share your boy name with us? we always struggle with boy names - girl, no problem. :-) that is, unless you'd be trying again for a boy...
Hey Robyn, here are some different names for you. I was watching Charlotte's Web and one of the spiders names was Aranea. I think Davy and Collette's daughters name is Alainia, not sure of the spelling. I also have a freind was has an Alana and cousin who has an Ava.
Can't wait to hear maybe we will never hear the girls name because it will be a boy!!!!
