Bits and Pieces

- our house has a "For Sale" sign in the front yard. I cried, but I'm okay with it now. We really love this house.

- that means that we're showing it throughout the week and practically all I do is run behind kids cleaning up messes in case our realtor calls. I've come to terms with the fact that it won't be perfect and God can sell it for us no matter what. But it's actually fun to have a tidy house all the time!

- I'm slowly getting packed. There's a big pile of boxes in the basement, but I have to look for more empty ones so I can keep going.

- Emilie is into EVERYTHING. She loves to pull out books, cds, papers, garbage, anything from my diaper bag, you name it. She is one busy girl. She's walking everywhere now.

- Adrienne is a sneak. She ate (and I mean ATE) seven pieces of gum the other day. I found the wrappers on my bed. Thankfully gum is sugar free, but sometimes it's icing sugar or candy that she's sneaking. Not so good for blood sugar control...

- Olivia seems bored at school. I'm starting to get excited about homeschooling.

- Anna-Christina is a bookworm, which I'm happy about. We had parent teacher meetings this week and her teacher is really sad to see her go (a good sign). She is excelling at spelling this year. She asked me the other day when she can shave her legs. AAAAAAHHH!!! Thankfully she's forgotten about it.

- anyone have ideas on tricky ways to get your kids to listen the first time you talk??? I punish, reward, threaten, etc. and it doesn't seem to make a difference. Hey, even getting them to listen the second time I speak would be a blessing.

- Emilie is carrying clothing out of my closet now so I guess I better go.

Hey Robyn -- good to hear from you again. So, you're homeschooling when you move? I so clearly remember the first leg shave - what a monumentous occasion. I was a bit older than 7... just a bit. And wasn't that excited about it. Hey, I wonder if she has some fascination with that - I was reading old posts of yours looking for a recipe and found the song she made up about shaving her legs with power. hmmmmm.... funny stuff. I am not qualified to give you any child rearing advice at all so I shall not. But have you heard of the book "Creative Correction?" I've heard some people talk about it here and there and have heard good things about it. Not like you have time to read right now anyway, but just thought I'd through that out there. Happy packing!

Hey Robby
i am just trying to figure how to comment. Your mother is helping me. Tell Anna Christina Mj doesn't shave her legs at 40 years of age.

Waahh for the "for sale" sign in your yard, but I do understand. I like that house too and all it's memories. I am getting really ready to see you all again.--Mom

Why do we have to go through pain and change in order to move on to other, often better things? I'll pray you all adjust well. I wish we could get Emilie and Nathan together. They'd probably destory a city block! Emilie would have to carry Nate though because he still refuses to walk. :(
