- It's fall. I love it. What more can I say? I think I've found the place where I want to spend every autumn of my life. After we leave, I'll just keep coming back for September and October. My camera is better now (too bad I can't get a new one), so I'll try to take pictures soon.
- I'm waiting for my friend, who just had a baby a week ago, to recuperate enough to go to "the Valley" so we can get pumpkins, apples, squash, and anything else we can find. Oh, and to stop for homemade ice cream along the way.
- My two best-est babysitters have moved away for university. I know I'm not as sad as their mom is, but I'm pretty sad, and so are the kids. Now I have to find some new ones. This sounds sentimental, but I don't think we can ever replace them.
- The kids are enjoying school, mostly. It's been ho-hum so far. Nothing bad, nothing exciting. I miss knowing what they are learning and doing every day. They seem to have good teachers, but so far nothing I would rave about. They're starting to make friends. Each of them is invited to a birthday party in the next couple of weeks, so that's nice.
- Adrienne and Emilie are loving my attention. Someone asked Adie if she misses her sisters when they're at school. She said, "No." Plain and simple.
- I'm enjoying the Perspectives course, so far. It's A LOT of reading, but that's good for me. The problem with reading is that I can't listen to music or knit or blog while I'm reading. And it's really small print, with no pictures. Bummer. (Know what movie that's from???)
But it's good to hear from different speakers each week, and to see the world through other people's eyes, so to speak.
- My baby is going to be 2 years old soon. Sigh. I am so excited about this stage of life, yet I'm sorry to see my baby...well, not be a baby anymore. Emilie still doesn't talk much, but she is one problem-solving child if I've ever seen one. Yesterday she took her shoes off in the van, so I gave them to her to carry inside. She was holding a little bag that she had been eating a snack from. She could hold all 3 items, but kept dropping one or another. She stood there pondering what to do, and I just watched her without stepping in to help. After a minute, she put down her shoes, stuffed the bag into one shoe, picked up the shoes and walked inside. If she could talk I probably wouldn't be the least bit amazed, but since she hardly says 10 words, it just seems so funny to see her putting things together.
-Speaking of reading, a 4" textbook is calling my name. Better answer.

I lost my go-to babysitter to college this fall. I miss her like crazy! The good news is that I just discovered a 14 year old right across the street that loves to babysit. I've had her here once and the girls absolutely love her so I'm really happy about that. And the fact that she's only 14 means she'll be around for a little while!
Nice update, Robyn! Thanks! I'm happy for the 2 little girls having mommy all to themselves for now and hope the 2 older ones schooling goes great this year.
I'll be patient for pics.
for some reason, this post made me miss you like crazy. :( but, i'm so glad that you are enjoying life and i'm very proud of you for tackling all that reading. way to go. :)
also, i'm not as patient as mom is for the photos. haha.
Thanks for an update.
Looking forward to seeing pictures, too. And I want to request a pic of you and daryl. I need to see your faces.

Sorry you lost your sitters. = ( I love fall too, esp. here in the south where winter doesn't involve 40 below. It was always a bit difficult for me to get too excited about fall in Red Lake. Here, it can't come fast enough. Incidentally, it has barely thought of making its appearance. It's still in the 90s or upper 80s with high humidity during the day. joy! Way to go with the class you're taking! Does all that reading remind you of Rosedale? Remember the counseling class we got to take together? Ah, the memories. I'll be interested to hear your school thoughts as they form and unfold and blossom into beautiful flowers.
hi! i'm skyping with you right now, but i wanted to show my face (sts) on here anyway! great post...i would like pictures, please...i miss you guys! oh, and i remember very well the insanely thick perspectives reader! take heart, you can do it!
