Life Rolls On

Well, we got the phone call. For anyone who doesn't know yet, we heard that we will be moving this winter, with Daryl starting his cardiology residency in January!

Apparently they "found" funding somewhere...not sure what all happened behind the scenes. But just this week we were getting cold feet again, and wondering if we should keep moving ahead, and then God opened the door a little wider again. Seems He might be nudging us through.

All of this is a little scary, but very exciting too. It has been fun to be so laid back about all these plans, just trusting in God to take us where He wants. Because we really haven't been pushing for leaving or staying, just waiting on God to show us. I'm amazed at the lack of stress we've felt, and that is an answer to prayer.

I also want to make this known: I am behind my husband, 100%. I know many of you probably think I'm crazy to "let" him do more training, but I honestly think that God has prepared me for this. Daryl is fully committed to our family before his education. He has told me many times that if this is too tough for us and is pulling us apart as a family rather than together, he will quit. It's not worth that to him.

Now we are really pondering what to do about the kids' schooling for next year. All you homeschoolers out there give me all the advice you can! It's one route we're looking at but not sure of. I don't want to totally stress myself out with living in a new place, Daryl working a new job, and me home full time with 4 kids. On the other hand, I can't just throw them into the first school I see when we get there. So...not sure what's next.

We are having a swell weekend. :-) The weather is just excellent and we're enjoying it immensely.

Thanks for the update (and the email!) I will keep praying for you all. This is just a wild thought, but it did cross my mind that it would be neat if you could find a young girl that could live with you for at least a few months to help with cleaning, cooking and babysitting. That would free you up to do homeschooling or visit schools. Just a thought.

God seems to be really opening doors for you. I am sure he will continue to give you direction.

P.S. I enjoyed your "preacher girl" post. Maybe you should just ask Olivia what God is saying. :)

I'm all for that idea too. As you know I mentioned it. Sorry I never emailed you to tell you more about it yet, but you can find out a little more about my "au pair" that is coming in May by reading this post:

Oh wow. I can't believe I never left the comment I had in my head when I first read this post. It was just to say I would vote for the Homeschool choice. but then I would also strongly suggest Sonlight in my very biased opinion and limited experience. So not sure if that helps or not.

Would you consider a live-in-slave...er...helper? I can tell you that you won't know how to go back to you/yourself and you once she leaves!!! I speak from experience you know. We still miss Leona A LOT!!! For more than her help, too, I must add. =)
