I almost felt sacreligious making this tree for Easter...but I grew up decorating Easter eggs, and it never diminished the real meaning for me. Of course, I hope that we celebrate Christ's death, resurrection, and all that it means for us, every day. But I love celebrating Easter. This year has been especially meaningful for us as the girls are getting old enough to really appreciate what Jesus did on the cross.
Anyway, here are some of the eggs we decorated. We used leaves and grass, and if you want more details, you can find them
here. We learned towards the end that the thin, soft leaves worked much better than hard, thick leaves. I'm only posting pictures of the ones that actually turned out! :-)

Robyn! I love this tree idea!! Just one question, how do you keep the eggs from slipping out of the ribbon? Are they blown to make them lighter? Did you use the readily available egg dye packages or other? We always colour eggs too and haven't yet this year so if you answer me quick we might be able to copy your idea tom. afternoon. =)
Iris, the secret is - don't touch them! :-) I tried blowing them out but it was too much work. I also tried using thin ribbon, but that doesn't work either. So, thick ribbon, tie them tight and keep kids away! :-)
Oh, one more thing - we just used food colouring and some vinegar in warm water.
Yes, Ma'm, this looks like the project for today...with a few variations on the theme. Look for results later on my blog!!! I love when inspiration hits. This morning it was in those first, lazy half-awake moments while still snuggled in bed. Gives me a reason to want to get up. =)
wow, so crafty! i'm impressed; they're very pretty.
