The one where...
- we made a barometer today and studied weather
- I've been excercizing regularly
- we're having a delicious dinner of curried vegetables, basmati rice and naan
- my husband sent me for a long bath in my jucuzzi when I had a sinus headache
- my daughter asked for a nap today
- my bed is made
- the snow is melted
- I'm making a fabulous dessert to take to friends' for dinner tomorrow
...Or would you rather hear the story where...
- we hardly got any "school work" done today (by the book)
- the sauce for my supper is coming from a jar, and the naan was on the day-old sale rack
- my hair is horrid and I don't care, since I never see anyone and can't go anywhere
- my van is still in the shop and we are sick of being stuck at home
- my kids are whiney (probably from being stuck at home)
- there's still boxes of "stuff" in my bedroom, with no place to go
- there are piles of papers and books in my dining room that never seem to go away
and if that's not enough "story" for you, take a look at the pictures below. I just had to shoot them because I was so appalled at the state of my house today. After I took them, I forced myself to madly clean up as much as I could (since the littles are down for naps) before I went anywhere near my computer.
So, I'm feeling much better, thank you very much.
Which story would you rather hear???
I have a feeling I know already...

I love your transparency and honest look at life. That sock pile is calling to me, isn't it? (large smiley face needed here) I know, it really isn't because you said it's gone now. I wondered where the "after" pictures were, but then I just reminded myself how your house looked when we were there.
I love your perspective in looking at your day. That's what we all need! I know that you usually have the 'first story' attitude and I am glad that your day was better after you tackled your house! miss you
oh, i could take pictures too! you should see the piles of crud we sweep up from the dining room floor!
i like your second story. it makes me feel a little more "normal". :-)
I LOVE IT!!!!
To be honest, I was reading your first story and thinking how perfect your life seems. I was feeling a bit jealous. And then I kept reading. Yay, you are normal too! Thanks for sharing your mess with us all.
Isn't it amazing to think though...if we just focused on the postive things...how different of a perspective if we were to focus on the negative.
Thanks Robyn.

great post! i'll take either story, as long as you tell what the 'fabulous dessert' is. and i love the picture of adie's socks! :)
And me, I want to keep hearing both stories together thank you. They have a way of rounding out the picture together. The way life really is. In my opinion and experience they are indeed ONE story, not two at all. Don't ever stop being real....or the rest of us normals might plan your demise. =) (Or at least contemplate it.=)) I too loved the pic of Addie's socks. Too cute.
Thanks for keeping it real. I love it that you took pictures of the mess. Just in case we ever forget how we spent how days when the kids were little. . .
