~Well, so much for skating "whenever we want"...the ice is now garbage. Too much rain, freezing, snow, melting, freezing, rain, etc. Welcome to the east coast! I won't complain though. I love it that it will be spring by Easter!

~We were privileged to hear a speaker at church yesterday who works with Compassion. He landed in Port Au Prince about 2 hours before the earthquake struck. For "some reason" they got held up at the airport and were late getting to their hotel. As he and the group he was with were nearing the hotel, it collapsed, burying 2 of his colleagues who were inside already. (One lived and one did not.) It was a very moving story and it was refreshing to hear how God is working in Haiti. It is hard to know how to help, or where to start when your heart is touched by stories like this.

~The girls don't have school today, so we are thinking about our options of what to do...

~We had a party for Adrienne yesterday. She picked 5 friends to invite and their families came as well. So we had a fun, full house. I made way too much food but it's always better that way.
Pictures coming later.

~We finally purchased a small guitar for the kids to learn on. They are having fun playing with it even though they only know one chord. Yesterday the song they were singing was something like "My hot dog was smoking so I threw it in the river...". It was hilarious.

~I just want to say, once again, that I thank God for blessing us with such an awesome "family" here. It is truly His provision for us, and we don't take it for granted.

I was just thinking of your "family" the other day. I'm so glad you have them.

If you come up with any great ideas for your girls let me know. We have off today and I am afraid they won't have school tomorrow either because of the snow that is coming. They cancel for the smallest amount of snow :) I don't ever remember having a snow day.
So glad that you guys have "family" there...what a blessing!

I'm glad you have "family" out there! God is so good and amazing in the ways that he provides for us!

Haiti has been on my mind and heart a lot. What can we do? I started reading "A Crime so Monstrous" about modern day slavery. The first chapter is all about Haiti. That was enough to weigh on a heart without an earthquake on top of it!

so glad you are doing great. We sent a bday card to Adrienne but Canada Post delivered it back to us, no idea why....Sounds like her birthday was a great time! We were thinking of her anyways.

Nice to hear from your neck of the woods. Glad you're feeling at home there, or at least as much as a cfa can (is that what it was called?). I'm in awe of you having 5 families over to your place and no doubt cooking up a huge storm for everyone. Hey, you decided yet if you're coming south? = P
