We just finished a very lovely weekend. Daryl got off of work Saturday morning (well, it was around noon til he was actually leaving the building), and we all went to the Pancake House for breakfast. Mmmmm...It was his birthday, and Canada Day too, for any of you that aren't aware of that! :-)
We walked around the Forks for awhile, since there were lots of festivities going on. But we soon tired of that, since Daryl was already tired and we had forgotten the stroller. So we headed for home and long naps...for everyone but me! The girls and I had a lot of fun surprising Daryl with a new bike for his birthday. Well, maybe he wasn't too surprised...
On Sunday we decided to skip church and do some family bonding! We headed for Gimli beach, but saw signs for Winnipeg Beach, and thought, "Hmmm, it's closer, and we've never been there", not to mention that we were all tired of driving since Daryl forgot to tell me when to turn on the "scenic route" he apparently was taking me! There was a Scottish festival of some sort going on, and needless to say, we were sick of hearing bag pipes by the time we left! But we had fun. When we got home we had a bunch of friends over for a bbq and good visiting.
Monday found us doing what we seem to do best - puttering around home and enjoying it immensely! We cleaned, drank coffee, did laundry and just generally enjoyed hanging out together. Except for Anna-C. I think she threw up 8 times between midnight on Sunday and suppertime on Monday. Poor girl. We are praying no one else catches whatever it is that she has.
Daryl is back at work, but on a much better schedule for the month of July (thank you Lord). He doesn't leave the house until 7:30 and should be home around suppertime, which will be a very nice change!
